About Post office GDS 

The Dak Sevak is engaged in all activities like sale of stamps and stationery, transportation and distribution of mail and any other duties assigned by the postmaster/Sub Postmaster including the IPPB

 divisional post offices/RMS.Educational Qualification: Candidates are of 10th standard approved by State Boards and Central Government. A state-by-state list of approved boards is in Appendix A.

Candidates are recruited for many posts of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment. The GDS program includes a position with the central government and the competition for this position is very intense.

GDS Pay Structure 

  GDS pay is known as Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA). After the candidates have gone through the GDS selection process and are selected for the desired posts, they need to check their GDS salary. GDS Job Profile 

 Candidates who are selected as BPM, ABPM and Dak Sevak in GDS have to perform various duties. The very reason why the government developed the eligibility criteria for GDS. Here we talk about the duties of different positions

*BPM*

 Job Profile The Branch Postmaster job profile is given below: 

 The Postmaster is responsible for all the postal work of the Gram Panchayat. 

 Basically the branch is managed by BPM. In other words, BPM must manage the tasks performed in its field.

*GDS*

The job profile of Grami Dak Sevak is given below:  

Dak Sevak is involved in all activities like sale of stamps and stationery, transportation and distribution of mail and all other duties assigned to Divisional Post Offices/RMS. Postmaster/Sub-Postmaster including IPPB. 

 The Dak Sevak assists the Postmasters/Sub-Postmasters in organizing the smooth running of the post offices of the divisions and in carrying out marketing, business procurement or other tasks assigned by the controlling authorities.

*ABPM*

Job profile of Assistant Branch Post Master post is given below: 

 Assistant Branch Post Master has to help BPM branch for smooth functioning. 

 ABPM is involved in all basic operations like sale of stamps and stationery, transfer and delivery of mail, IPPB deposits/payments/other transactions, assisting branch postmasters using departmental PDAs/smartphones.
